From Toronto with Love

So,

Darby's friends Colin and Paul visited from Toronto last week.

After they vacated our guest cottage, I had three full garbage bags of empties to drag up to the dumpster. That should give you an idea of how the week went.

We spent a lot of time on Hirtle's Beach, which is five minutes from our house. Instead of surfing, I mostly drank beer and randomly read aloud from Breakfast of Champions by Kurt Vonnegut.

(For the record, it's my favorite Vonnegut so far. I've worked my way through five of his books in the last month.)

The weather has been incredible, and I've been trying to swim across our bay every day with Bill. It takes about forty-five minutes to make it both ways, and it's nice to spend some time in the ocean.

Darby and her Mom accompany us on a pair of paddle boards. Tough life, huh?

I've been a bit lethargic about writing since I finished my manuscripts, but I'm going to start working on some new short stories to submit to literary journals. And I'm getting geared up to start my correspondence classes at UBC next week.

I've posted some more pictures after the jump.

Will!!
